Union is located in the Southeast section of the Grande Ronde Valley. Catherine Creek runs through the middle of the town. Union is well known to have a large proportion of historical Victorian homes. The Buffalo Peek Golf course was build in the early 2000 has offers a 18 hole golf course. The Golf course is a type of lynx course, and you have great views of the Grande Ronde Valley. The course can be challenging and the course is fun to play. You can also find great recreational opportunities in Union. The Catherine Creek State Park is very popular during the spring and summer. Further up the road you can access the Eagle Cap Wilderness for some of the best hiking trials in Oregon. If you are in to snowmobiling or cross country skiing, you find a snow parking area at the top of the Highway grade. Union offers a great school system for the public and they recently built a sports center for their football games and for track.
